Course Agenda - 2026
Day 1 - Theory day (K1-K2)
Fundamentals of testing to:
- Set up your underpinning knowledge and understanding of the test process.
- Discuss the testing required with your team.
Software development lifecycles - here we put the V and iterative models in context in today's world.
This learning complements the testing fundamentals to provide the understanding of how testing fits into the overall project.
Day 2 - Techniques Day (K1 - K3)
Shift-left - we show why the tester's critical eye matters more than ever before asking the developers to start cutting code.
The nature of software development today can mean that we run too fast and fail too late.
Dynamic testing techniques - designing tests gives us traceability when bugs escape into the next stage of development, despite our best efforts.
We cover black-box, white-box and experience-based test design techniques.
Day 3 - Final Theory Day (K1 - K3)
Test Management - we cover:
- The value of independent testing, even in cross-functional teams.
- The necessity of considering project and product risks at all times whilst testing.
- Defect reporting - we show how to communicate potential problems early, so that the risks of not addressing them are understood by the team.
Test Tools - a brief look at tools to support the test activities.
